Adding an SPF record

A Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record is a DNS record used for verifying your sent emails. The record identifies which mail servers are permitted to send from the email server which prevents spammers from forging emails sent, using your domain. SPF records use the TXT record type.

Note: If you wish to set up a DNS record with Metacloud, it's important to note you need to use our nameservers - so Metacloud manage and host your DNS. Domains registered with Metacloud use our nameservers by default but in order to point your domain to our nameservers, or verify they are correctly pointed, please see our guide for more info.

Once you are using our name servers, follow the steps below:

Log in to your account.
From the menu, click the Domains tab, and select My Domains.
Click on the domain name you wish to create an SPFT record for.
Click DNS Management, on the left sidebar.
Here you will add the desired SPF record, provided by your host.

Select TXT in the Type drop-down menu.
If provided a subdomain or host, enter it in the Host field.
Enter or copy+paste the value (string) into the Answer field.
Leave TTL as 300 (default)
Click the Save Changes button.

Once the records are created, the domain should be working within 24 hours.
